The painting is in honor of the first youth generation to make a global statement that has changed the world. Both in terms of initiating a positive mind shift in social and environmental conscientious which has effected political change. It is the first time this has ever happened. It deserves to be celebrated because of the truly positive global impact it promises.

]]> Flowering Mind https://pauldarcy.ie/flowering-mind/ Mon, 11 Mar 2013 20:01:51 +0000 https://pauldarcy.ie/2013/03/11/flowering-mind/ This painting was inspired by a mannequin in a jeweller’s shop in Stephen’s Green Shopping centre , Dublin and was gifted to St. Patrick’s University Psychiatric Hospital , Dublin in 2011. It seemed a very appropriate home for the work as I have experience of the wonderful work that is done at this hospital.

The mind is a very powerful part of our being and yet at the same time must be nurtured and cared for.

It also coincided with my interest in cosmic space and the theory of quantum physics  … today I’m more interested in a comic spiritualism and a general awe for the unexplainable.
